Welcome to Rooster. These Terms explain how we handle orders, payments, delivery, returns and other important details when you shop with us. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. These Terms are governed by English law, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England.

Online Security & Payments

Your security matters to us. Our website uses SSL encryption and is scanned daily by an independent provider. You can pay using PayPal or credit/debit card via Braintree. All card details are processed securely by Braintree. We also use Cardinal Commerce (3D Secure / PSD2) for added payment protection. Payment is taken when your order is processed.

Orders, Pricing & Cooling-Off

Placing an order on our website does not mean it has been accepted. Acceptance occurs when we dispatch your order and email confirmation. We may decline or cancel any order before dispatch. If we cancel, we’ll refund you in full.

UK website: prices include UK VAT unless the goods are zero-rated or shipped outside the UK VAT area.

EU website: prices include local VAT and duty, fulfilled from the UK under Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) terms. Deliveries outside the EU may incur import duties or taxes, payable by you.

Your right to cancel (distance selling): If you buy online, you have 14 days from delivery to cancel for any reason (excluding customised items or sealed goods not suitable for return once opened). If you cancel, we’ll refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods back or evidence you’ve sent them back. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Promotion & Discount Codes

Enter codes at checkout; they can’t be applied afterwards. One code per order unless stated otherwise. Codes may exclude sale items, have expiry dates or minimum spend limits. Digital Downloads

All digital purchases are final once downloading or streaming begins.

Consent to immediate supply: before download/streaming you must consent to immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day cancellation right once delivery starts.

You may use digital content for personal, non-commercial use only. If digital content is faulty, you’re entitled to a repair or replacement, or a price reduction if that’s not possible.

Product Descriptions

We aim to describe products accurately; small variations in colour, fit or materials may occur. If an item doesn’t match its description, you may return it unused for a refund.

Under 18s

We do not sell directly to children. Orders must be placed by an adult.

Delivery, Tax & Duties

We aim to dispatch orders in line with your chosen delivery option. Express orders placed before 15:00 GMT on a working day usually ship the same day (excluding weekends and bank holidays). Delivery times are estimates only. Some remote areas may carry higher delivery costs.

Your statutory delivery rights: If no delivery date is agreed, UK law expects delivery without undue delay and within 30 days. If we don’t deliver within that period you may set a new, reasonable deadline, then cancel for a full refund if we still don’t deliver, or cancel immediately if timely delivery was essential and agreed at purchase.


If you purchase through our EU website (europe.roostersailing.com), the price you pay includes VAT and duty. These orders are shipped under DDP terms (Delivered Duty Paid).

If you purchase through our UK website (www.roostersailing.com), prices exclude local taxes and duties. You will be responsible for any import duty, VAT and applicable local charges. These orders are shipped under DAP terms (Delivered at Place).

Delivery Time frames: Please note that delivery time scales may be affected by customs import procedures, which can at times cause delays in receiving parcels. Whilst we endeavor to deliver your items within the correct time frame, this can never be guaranteed.

Free Delivery over £75 (UK) / €200 (EU)
Free delivery thresholds apply to all products on our website, except long or bulky items (typically any item over 1.2m in length). Standard delivery charges will apply to these items and to any orders below the free delivery threshold, as shown at checkout.

Returns

We want you to be happy with your purchase.

UK & International Returns (www.roostersailing.com): We offer easy returns through Royal Mail. To start your return, please visit our website.

Conditions: Items must be unused, in original packaging and resellable. Include a completed returns form. Refunds or store credit are available within 90 days of delivery. Store credit may be issued up to 365 days for unused items. UK customers can use our pre-paid label (£4.95, deducted from your refund) or arrange their own postage. Overseas returns are at your cost. Combo Deals: return all items together.

Faulty items: please report faults within one month of receipt or first use.

EU Returns (europe.roostersailing.com): Return goods to our EU warehouse using a tracked service at your cost. Refunds are processed within 14 days of receipt.

This Returns Policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Your Statutory Rights (Faulty Goods)

If a product is faulty, you have a 30-day short-term right to reject it for a refund. After 30 days, we’ll repair or replace within a reasonable time; if unsuccessful, you may receive a price reduction or refund. These rights apply for up to 6 months, and claims can be brought for up to 6 years (5 in Scotland).

Custom Products

We can’t accept returns of customised or personalised products (e.g. added logos, text or modifications) unless faulty. This includes custom-cut rope/rigging, shortened carbon tillers, machined masts/booms, or altered wetsuits/longjohns. Contact Customer Service if a custom product develops a manufacturing fault.

Delays

Timeframes are given in good faith but are not guaranteed. We’re not responsible for delays beyond our control.

Sub-Contracting

We may use trusted sub-contractors to help fulfil your order; we remain responsible for the service provided.

Stock Levels

All items are offered subject to availability. If unavailable, we’ll contact you to offer an alternative or refund.

Environmental Policy

We reuse and recycle packaging wherever possible to reduce waste.

Loyalty Points

Earn 5 Rooster Points per £1 on eligible UK website purchases. Points have no cash value, can’t be transferred or sold, and may not accrue on discounted items. Rewards: free delivery from 1,000 points, or vouchers/gifts from 1,500 points (1 point = £0.01). Points may be adjusted or withdrawn if misused. Refer a friend: earn a £5 voucher when your friend orders via your link.

Competitions

Eligibility: UK residents aged 18+ unless stated. Employees and agents (and their households) are excluded. Entry & Prizes: See each Competition Notice for entry details, closing dates and prizes. One entry per person unless stated. Winners will be notified using the details provided. Prizes are non-transferable; we may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Publicity & Data: By entering, you agree that Rooster may use your name/entry for reasonable publicity. Data is processed per our Privacy Policy. Liability: Rooster isn’t responsible for lost, delayed or misdirected entries. Nothing limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Competitions follow English law and the courts of England have exclusive jurisdiction.

SMS Updates (PECR)

We send SMS messages only with your consent or under the ‘soft opt-in’ rules. Each message identifies Rooster and includes a STOP opt-out. Message frequency varies; standard network rates apply. You can opt out at any time. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.

Sponsorship Support & Prize Scheme

Discounts apply to full-price Rooster-branded products only (not third-party items). Requests must be submitted at least two weeks before the event. Codes are for event-related purchases only and may change monthly. Organisers are responsible for handling prize returns; Rooster cannot accept direct returns from winners. Misuse of codes may result in permanent removal from the scheme.

Bladed Items (Age-Verified Delivery)

Certain products (e.g. knives or bladed tools) are restricted to customers aged 18 or over. By purchasing, you confirm you are legally permitted to do so. Deliveries use age-verified methods and will not be left unattended. We may require collection with photo ID. Orders will be refused or cancelled if age cannot be verified. Customers must comply with all local laws on possession, use and transport. Rooster accepts no liability for misuse or unlawful possession.
