Attaching eyes to a Laser/ILCA boom:
Rivets are the standard/factory method of affix the plastic eye to the boom. The holes in the boom are 4.8mm 3/16" dia. but can enlarge due to corrosion etc. If the holes are in good condition then a new 4.8mm dia. rivet can be re-used. For a more secure method to affix the eye, it is suggested a M5 nut/washer and bolt is used - see blog article: HERE
