Supertherm & Thermaflex Wetsuit Ranges: A Fusion of Innovation and Passion Supertherm & Thermaflex Wetsuit Ranges: A Fusion of Innovation and Passion

Supertherm & Thermaflex Wetsuit Ranges: A Fusion of Innovation and Passion

Rooster wetsuits are designed by sailors and watersports enthusiasts who understand exactly how technical kit needs to perform — not just when standing on shore, but when fully immersed, repeatedly used, stretched, hiked in, soaked through, dried out, and pushed hard session after session. Our ThermaFlex and SuperTherm ranges have been developed specifically around the movements and demands of dinghy sailing and high-performance watersports. Every seam placement, panel shape, fabric choice, and construction method has been carefully considered to ensure the wetsuit works with the body rather than against it. Unlike generic watersports wetsuits designed for broad use across surfing or recreational activities, Rooster® wetsuits are engineered around the dynamic movement patterns of sailing. Whether hiking hard upwind, manoeuvring through tacks and gybes, trapezing, paddling, or foiling, the ranges are built to move naturally with the user while maintaining warmth, flexibility, and long-term durability. The ThermaFlex 1.5mm range focuses on lightweight performance and unrestricted movement in milder conditions. Constructed using highly flexible neoprene and strategically positioned panels, the range minimises resistance across key movement zones such as the shoulders, lower back, hips, and knees. The seam layout has been developed to reduce pressure points and eliminate restriction during active sailing positions, helping sailors maintain comfort and mobility throughout long sessions on the water. Flatlock seam construction enhances flexibility while maintaining durability and comfort against the skin, making the range ideal for high-output sailing and watersports where breathability, freedom of movement, and temperature regulation are critical. The fabrics are chosen not only for stretch when dry, but for how they continue to perform once wet, maintaining flexibility without becoming heavy or restrictive over time. The SuperTherm 4mm range is designed for colder conditions where thermal protection and durability become increasingly important, without sacrificing the movement needed for performance sailing. Featuring glued and blind stitched seam construction, the range significantly reduces water ingress while maintaining flexibility and comfort. This construction method also improves durability and thermal efficiency by creating stronger, lower-profile seams that move naturally with the body and minimise rubbing during extended use. Using a carefully balanced combination of thermal lining, supportive neoprene thicknesses, and articulated panel design, the SuperTherm range delivers warmth while still allowing the body to move efficiently and naturally. The panel layout has been refined to support repeated movement in demanding sailing positions, reducing fatigue and improving overall comfort during long sessions afloat. Reinforced construction in high-wear areas improves durability against abrasive decks, hiking straps, and repeated use, while maintaining flexibility where it matters most. Both the ThermaFlex and SuperTherm ranges are also available in dedicated women’s fits, developed specifically around female body shapes rather than simply scaling down men’s patterns. The women’s designs incorporate refined panel shaping and fit adjustments to improve comfort, mobility, and overall performance on the water. By carefully considering how the wetsuit fits and moves across different body shapes, the ranges provide a more natural and supportive fit without compromising technical performance. Find out more about the womens ranges here. Across both ranges, durability is just as important as initial comfort. Repeated exposure to salt water, UV, stretching, and constant movement places huge demands on wetsuit construction, which is why we focus heavily on long-term performance testing. Materials and seam constructions are selected not simply for how they feel out of the packaging, but for how they continue to perform after extensive use throughout a season. Every development decision comes from real on-water experience. As sailors ourselves, we understand how technical kit needs to respond in changing conditions, how it should feel after hours on the water, and where comfort, stretch, protection, and durability matter most. That understanding is built into every aspect of the ThermaFlex and SuperTherm ranges.

Class by Class: What our Sailors Really Wear

When it comes to sailing, what you wear can make or break your time on the water. Whether you're out racing, cruising or training, the right outfit ensures comfort, performance, and safety. Different boat classes demand different gear — from technical clothing designed to keep you dry and warm to lightweight, breathable layers perfect for racing hard in Spring conditions. In this guide, with the help of some of our Riders, we’ll break down the best sailing outfit ideas tailored to each class, helping you gear up with confidence in a temperature range of 10-15 degrees, no matter what kind of sailing you’re into.   RS AERO Sammy Base Layer - Rash Top-Long Sleeved Mid Layer - Pro Hikers 4/3mm (Fixed Battens) Top Layer - SuperTherm 4mm Top Extras - Custom Race Bib, Rooster Cap (Structured), Supertherm 4mm Wet Socks,  Pro Laced Boots and Race Armour Buoyancy Aid RS21 Liam Base Layer - Tech Shorts and Long-Sleeve UV Top and/or Poly Pro's Mid Layer -  Hybrid Jacket or a Fleece Top Layer - Light Weight Spray Top and/or SB1's Extras - Hat, Deck Shoes 49erFX Emilie and Julie Base Layer - Women's PolyPro Top Mid Layer - Women's SuperTherm 4mm Long John Top Layer - Classic ThermaFlex 1.5mm Top – Unisex and Women's Classic Aquafleece Top  Extras: Buoyancy Aid, Race Bib, Gloves, Boots, Trapeze Harness   OPTIMIST  Amélie   Base Layers - Poly Pro Top and Leggings  Mid Layer - Thermaflex 1.5mm Long John’s   Top Layer - Classic Aquafleece Top  Extras - All Purpose Boots, Rooster Cap and Poly Pro Gloves   ILCA 4 Eva Base Layer: Supertherm Top Mid Layer: Pro Hikers and Wear Protection Shorts Top Layer: Pro Lite Aquafleece Top Extras: Race Armour Buoyancy Aid and Hot Socks   ILCA 6 Jake Base Layer: Rash Top Mid Layer: Thermaflex 1.5mm Long-John Top Layer: Race Armour Buoyancy Aid & Race Bib Extras: Pro Laced Ankle Strap Boots, 3/4 Classic Hikers 4/3mm & Structured Cap TOPPER Meg Base Layer: Rash Top and Hot Legs Mid Layer: Supertherm Long John and Top Top Layer: Pro Aquafleece Top Extras: Structured Cap, Pro Laced Boots    29er Henry and Finn Base Layer - Poly Pro Top and Legs and Supertherm Socks Mid Layer - Supertherm Long John  Top Layer - Pro Lite Aquafleece Top  Extras - Pro Race Gloves 5, Pro Lace Boots and Diamond Over Head Buoyancy Aid Thanks to the insights from our supported sailors, it’s clear that comfort, functionality, and adaptability are key when dressing for 10-15 degrees on the water. How to Keep Warm in the Winter with these Top 5 Tips! How to Keep Warm in the Winter with these Top 5 Tips!

How to Keep Warm in the Winter with these Top 5 Tips!

Here are some ingenious tips and tricks to make your kit bag work harder for you this winter without breaking the bank. TIP #1: Cold Hands and Feet Your trusty sailing gloves and boots haven't let you down all summer but the rapidly dropping water and air temperatures are leaving your extremities cold and numb.  I can manage down to 8 degrees by adding some glove liners  such as Hot Hands or PolyPro™ Glove Liner. We also have a number of options on sock liners you can wear with your wetsuit boots to keep you toasty. If your boots are already on the right side, then take a look at Hot Socks, Thermaflex Wetsocks and PolyPro™ Sock Liner or if you have some space in your boots  then try the Supertherm Wetsocks are sooooo warm.  The fabrics and thicknesses vary depending on each individuals needs and the great thing is they can be used for a range of other sports too, like SUP'ing, cycling, skiing and Although our biggest selling glove by far is the Aquapro Glove, If you need some super warm hands - then the NEW Combi Glove will hit the spot with a space for a hot sachet where the tuck away mitten lives.  I've enjoyed super warm hands whatever the weather.  Check out the Fell Running Guide's review on our socks, and he also uses our glove liners when racing :) If the options seem confusing, give us a call and we'll guide you through the range.  Photo Credit: www.fellreunningguide.co.uk   TIP #2: Cold Ears/ Ice Cream Headache! Winter showers, hail, snow or an unexpected dunking, the most important part of your body to keep warm and dry is your head. It's amazing the difference putting a hat on can make to your day on the water. Even in Summer it's worth carrying a hat in case you find yourself hanging around in between races. Our Pro Aquafleece® Beanie gives you the comfort of a fleece lining, while the waterproof outer and taped seams work to keep the water out. It was one of my favourites:   Cold ears? Try our Headbands - I have even used them Cross Country Skiing.  The updated Superthem Beanie has become my winter favourite.  I like the way it stays on my head whatever with its new elastic drawcord.   TIP #3: My summer wetsuit is great, I don't need another one but I'm COLD!! Get your base layer right. Lycra rash vests are out I'm afraid, the fabric is designed to keep you cool so these should only be worn to protect you from UV rays. PolyPro™ base layers are in and will make a huge difference to your core temperature. Once again, these items can be used across multiple sports and activities. The brushed, fleece-like lining is very soft and comfortable next to your skin and the polypropylene fabric is naturally hydrophobic which means it repels water rather than absorbing it.    TIP #4: I'm STILL cold :-( Take a look at your first line of defence, what's keeping the wind, rain, snow and spray out? Our Aquafleece® revolutionised the standard spray top - waterproof outer AND a soft fleece lining, the perfect combination! You can wear it all year round too, just adjust the layers you wear underneath in the warmer months to stop you overheating. Our range is available in a number of different colours, styles and constructions - watch this video to find out more.   Check your Neoprene Thickness Next is to look at the thickness of the neoprene you are wearing. Usually, less than 3mm neoprene is used in the summer months or in warmer climates. We would recommend our Men's Supertherm range or our Women's Supertherm range which is 4mm and provides good warmth in colder months. A Supertherm Longjohn and Top Combo is very cosy. Our Pro Hikers are also 4mm and can be paired with our Supertherm Top which is what I wear for most of the winter months - but only when combined with our awesome Poly Pro base layers.    Who said its too cold to go sailing!!

Mid Layer – Supertherm, ThermaflexAdds warmth without bulk. Supertherm is ideal for colder sessions, while Thermaflex provides a lighter alternative for spring and summer. Our team will be on hand to guide you through the options and help you build the right setup for your sailing or watersports conditions. Neoprene recycling scheme in partnership with Mindful Manta ♻️ Sustainability continues to be a key focus for us, and after the fantastic response last year, we’re proud to be collaborating with Mindful Manta for the second year running. Getting back into Dinghy racing

Sailing, like any sport, has a busy summer season for racing, with numerous events taking place all over the UK and beyond. For me, sailing an RS200 in the North West leads me to the RS200 Northern Tour alongside the Rooster Championship Tour which will include the National Championships taking place at East Lothian Yacht Club. Chinese general and military strategist, Sun Tzu, once said: “Every battle is won before it is fought”. In other words, you need to manage resources and preparation effectively before you enter battle…or in dinghy terms, any racing event. Whether it is a club, regional, national or international event, it is useful for us to consider the appropriate preparation and ensure that mentally, physically and emotionally we are as strong as possible. Whilst I was at university and learnt team racing, I always found it useful to keep focused in the moments leading up to the race and then to maintain a present state of mind when racing. As a result of the covid-19 pandemic, racing events were fewer and far between over the last couple of years. Nevertheless, I managed to participate in a first major RS200 event in late 2021. Sailing in at Royal Torbay Yacht Club for Summer Championships in August 2021 demonstrated to me how quickly coastal areas can change in relation to wind and weather conditions and the appropriate attire also changed, so a dry bag with extra kit is essential! These are some of my favourite pieces of kit which I feel are very important in contributing to a positive day of dinghy racing. The supertherm range is great for cold Winter training and racing – Women's SuperTherm 4mm Wetsuit  I tend to bring out the Thermaflex for the summer months - Women's ThermaFlex 1.5mm Wetsuit  The Essentials range is great for majority of the year, if you wear layers underneath and on top - Essentials 2mm Full Wetsuit Plus I would highly recommend the Aquafleece for wetter and often coastal days, particularly when competing in a racing series and you are sat in between races - Women's Aquafleece Spray Tops | Rooster Sailing & Watersports     Since I had a major life event taking place in 2022, I decided not to commit to any major racing events but concentrated on my overall fitness and strength. Wakeboarding regularly ensured that my strength and stamina was maintained and you can read more about my wakeboarding experiences via the link: https://www.roostersailing.com/blogs/ambassadors/wagers-with-wakeboarding-where-to-start-what-to-wear-and-what-to-expect I also sailed regularly to train and worked on my sailing posture and adaptation to wind conditions, which I hope will be of great help in the upcoming racing season for 2023. I am regularly competing in club races at Leigh & Lowton Sailing Club and look forward to the challenges that will be faced in the other sailing events.     Whilst considering a return back to dinghy racing, I created the below acrostic which reads “Whatever The Weather, Be There”. I hope this provides some useful inspiration and tips ahead of the dinghy racing season, and motivates you to enter the next dinghy racing event. Always remember Benjamin Franklin’s words: “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail”.     Whether the weather be fine, Or whether the weather be not, Whether the weather be cold, Or whether the weather be hot, We'll weather the weather Whatever the weather, Whether we like it or not! - be disciplined no matter what and make the start line…   Have goals - build up your schedule to reflect what performance you hope to achieve…   Aim high - it never hurts to be optimistic as one day you may win that race…   Train consistently - if that means only once or twice a week in the gym, stick to a regular pattern…   Exercise in a way that suits your body - if you prefer mornings, start early or if you are a night owl, finish the day in a positive way…   Vary your training - water drills, land sessions, strength and conditioning, yoga or Pilates: all help to strengthen the body in different ways    Eat a balanced diet - your body needs fuel to keep going and sailing is a strenuous sport   Read your rules - make sure you’re up to date with all the racing rules that apply to your class of boat    Tune your boat - make sure that every part of your boat is in tip top shape    Height and weight are important - know the measurements of helm (and /) or crew to ensure boat is tuned well     Expected weather conditions should be in your mind at all times - watch the weather forecast with great interest and ensure that you have the appropriate clothing to match (I would recommend using supertherm for the very cold weather, thermaflex for moderate weather and essentials for medium – warm weather and remember that coastal sailing involves wind and tide and therefore, will probably result in wetter conditions overall)   Work smarter, not harder - ensure that you know the race course    Examine your sails regularly - check for any damages and ensure you have emergency tape on you at all times is important    Arrange lines in advance - tangled spinnaker sheets are less than ideal!    Tune rig for expected conditions - you can adapt them as you go    Have an open mind - weather conditions, travel, boat breakages, a faster competition…all these factors can throw you off pre/during/post racing so try to keep open to changes as they inevitably come along…   Embrace the challenge - try racing at coastal and inland environments to observe the different wind and tidal conditions    Remember your own limits - always wear safety equipment, including a buoyancy aid and safety nice, and don’t go out on the water if you’re unsure about the conditions…   Be disciplined on implementing a watch system - ensure you have a high quality timer for the start   Eliminate your competitors by first identifying them - during the pre-race sailing and during the race, make sure you watch your speed in relation to others sailing around you   Take the time to evaluate yourself and your habits at the start of a new year - is there anything more that you could do to help yourself feel better prepared (ie. more light wind boat handling, roll tacks, boat bimbling)    Hydrate - make sure you have spare bottles of water / homemade energy drinks (ie. squash accompanied by the appropriate amount of sugar - speak to your coach if you’re unsure)   Energise - whatever helps you feel most ready for training ie. starting the day with a brisk walk, a jog or some yoga to get yourself into the best mindset    Re-hydrate - remember that you need to continue taking in fluids after your training / practice racing    Even when you have doubts about your performance, just give it a go!      “Proper preparation and planning prevents poor performance”   Enjoy your sailing!   Sitara 😊

Designed by Women for Women; The launch of Rooster's female range

2018 saw the launch of our Women’s specific range, through a complete neoprene selection to complement our Unisex offering. At this time, we knew there was an issue for well fitting, comfortable gear specifically designed for women, but I don’t think we fully predicted the scope of the issue. The main aim through the range was to encourage female participation on the water, and to empower confidence and accessibility to the freedom of what watersports bring, with a particular focus on sailing. Through the development stage, we worked closely with a local group of women, the majority from Felpham’s brilliant Women on Water initiative. It was through this, that the scope of the issue really came to light. This project then became not just about designing another range of neoprene, but it was more about the opportunity to design something that could really help women to get out with confidence in what they are wearing and feel good in it, whilst also having all the technical details to be able to perform to the highest level for dinghy sailing. Some really fundamental and interesting issues arose through our focus group meetings: The focus group highlighted that if they felt good, then they were more inclined to participate more often. Kit that removes this barrier must be a real positive for the future of our sport. Some of them had little knowledge of what they should be wearing and more importantly why. Poorly fitting kit works against the female form, hindering performance and ultimate enjoyment. We spoke to so many women in the sport that took the attitude like 'I just wear my son's old stuff – it doesn't really matter'. It was like they had somehow lost sight of their own value, which we thought is important to address. One of the main challenges through the design process was to result in a product that would suit the majority of women – at the end of the day what is a ‘normal’ female shape?! We all know there is no ‘one size fits all’ for women, so we really tried to tackle this. The fitting stages in the development were very much, ‘let’s try to get as many different women, age and size as we can get to try the fitting samples on and make sure the samples can fit to everyone’. This approach, although timely did work well to get a great idea of what would work best. Some great hacks we developed off the back of our research and fitting sessions were: A racerback fit meant that it could fit to different chest and shoulder sizes quite universally. Long front zipper entry meant it easy to get into for a range of hip sizes. Using super soft and stretchy materials used throughout the range meant that the styles could stretch well over different shapes. Flattering panel layout and colours to reflect them. The focus had equal emphasis on performance, just as much as it did comfort, as Rooster specialises on technical gear, and this range was no exception. The Rooster women’s collection continues to develop and evolve, and through great feedback we have been able to keep it growing to tackle more issues. Another key development was the launch of the women’s crop top and sports shorts in 2020. These were developed working with Junior class associations in order to provide young girls transitioning into women to have a solution for underwear for under a wetsuit that would be supportive, non-sexualised and reflected on the advice that is given out for measures to take when on their period. Since the launch of these ranges, we have seen the demand for women’s gear increase exponentially, where it has been humbling to see women come forward and thank us for providing them with a comfortable range that they could wear with confidence. We now have alternatives to many of the unisex collection items, with an aim to close this gap even further moving into the future.

Well, we have the perfect product that can do just that, introducing the: Aquafleece® Robe Snuggly on the inside, waterproof and windproof on the outside, this 4 in 1 jacket is so versatile. Why 2000's are so popular Why 2000's are so popular

Why 2000's are so popular

After Sarah ruptured her Achilles we talked about how we were going to get her back on the water. We had the option to borrow a friends 2000 for the Chichester Yacht Club Snowflake Winter Series. I had heard good things and bad things about the 2000 so it was our chance to give the boat a spin. Sarah finally got out of her incline boot so we carefully took to the water for the first of the series with some concern, despite knowing that the 2000 was probably one of the most stable family boats on the market. Boatwork. It's never easy to borrow a boat and not bring it up to racing standard. So we changed the shrouds, jib halyard, gennaker halyard, main halyard, tiller extension, jib sheet, mainsheet, gennaker sheet and toestraps. For any hiking boat, the most important part of the boat is the toe straps positions and adjustment; I wanted to arrange it so we could quickly adjust their length as we had no opportunity to test and practice beforehand. I found the Laser Pro padded toestraps fitted perfectly for the crew - now listed as 2000 crew toe strap set - and Solo padded toestraps set fitted perfectly for the helm - now listed as 2000 helm toe strap set. All the 2000 products are now being listed on our Shop by Boat - 2000 page. New Rooster 2000 Toestraps Fitted. The helm's toestraps could be fitted with the fitting hidden under the main strap. This helps keep the helm's footsteps up enough at the rear to be able to put your toe at the back of it without a problem. With the toestraps attached first and the strap taken over the top, gives more lift The adjustment was simple - I dead-ended the adjustment line from the toestrap fitting on the hull, took it round the toestrap and then back through the toestrap fitting and tied it off through the kicker and cunningham turning block fixing eye on the centreboard case. Adjustment is done by the stopper knot. This deck eye fitting is small enough that a small knot in the adjustment line was enough to hold the strap making it very easy to adjust between races. The great thing about the Rooster Pro Plus rubber backed toestraps is that they are fairly firm, so they do not twist and hold their position with only a little elastic around the thwart. Sailing the 2000  - Yes it is a stable platform, but also very comfortable. In light winds I found myself helming from next to the mast - good job I had my trusty 'Laser/ILCA length' carbon tiller extension (1.25m). The boat trim could be transformed with a massive weight movement forwards. It was fairly hard work to make the boat unstable to encourage it to tack, but with an adjustment to helm and crew movements we achieved the standard 'water over the side' and a 'slow pull up' that marks a reasonable roll tack. The crew had to work hard to slow the boat from righting itself too quickly. It did remind me of racing a Bosun in my Navy days, with some more refinements. The gennaker was challenging. The pole feels too short to get the kite to fly in the sub 5 knots we experienced in our first two weekends (Murphy's law - I think they were the only 3 hours of sub 20 knots we have had this winter). I am sure that the over tight luff and leach tapes on the gennaker were a major factor. Perhaps time to buy a new one? Sitting on the bow with the gennaker in her hand, Sarah was able to fly it in almost zero wind and the bonus of the extra weight up front was great for the trim. Finally this weekend, the wind blew. I was looking forward to sitting on the same side of the boat as my crew. We arrived at the starting area to find that our jib sleeve box had exploded. We limped ashore, not really sure what had happened to cause the rigging to go slack. We capsized the boat near the shore, identified the problem then rigged a jury jib halyard by passing a piece of dynema through the trapeze wire attachment points and set off to the race track.... some 5 mins after they had started. (Note - the class do not use the trapeze wires for racing). In 30 knots the boat was transformed into a super nippy and exciting machine. I was a little cautious on the first gybe as I was not sure how it was going to behave but with a little ease of the sheet and a positive step off the windward side, the boat took on a slight windward heel into the gybe which always makes it easier. Sarah had already discovered that the 2000 gennaker does not like to 'blow through gybe', unlike the 4000 gennaker. Perhaps the pole is too short? But with a little ease of the sheet, she could be certain that the gennaker would pop through. Trimming the jib sheet in the big gusts with its single sheet and no ratchet blocks was challenging. She sympathised with the smaller crews having trouble playing the sheet in strong winds. I understand that there is a proposal to change to a 2:1 on the sheet. Sarah was not sure that a ratchet block type system would work better. She had used this on the Scorpion and Merlin with good success. The 2:1 on the 4000 works well, but you do have to contend with a lot of sheet in the boat. We also had experimented with the longer gennaker halyard, leading it round the back, but quickly shortened the halyard and led it round the front so that Sarah had less rope in the cockpit so this windy day was the first test of this system. We preferred it. Sadly the race was shortened after 40 mins and we had only made up 4 of the 5 minutes on the leaders. The next one was abandoned so we wait for the next chance to put her though her paces. We did get some great video trying to make it back to the pack. Note the great looking toestraps! Sarah in disguise is wearing: Aquafleece Balaclava, Pro Aquafleece Beanie, Pro Aquafleece Top, Polypro Top, Supertherm Top, Supertherm Longjohn, SuperTherm wet socks, Womens 1.5mm shorts, with Pro hike pads, Aquapro Gloves and Rooster Low Cut Boots. What would I change: Apart from the jib box and jib halyard that needs to be changed for the next race, I will tighten our toe straps slightly and if the conditions are like this video, I'll also move the jib cars aft. I would love to change the sails. As usual, it's the jib and the gennaker that take the most punishment. The main also looks like it will need some attention if it is not going to let us down in the future, perhaps some simple sail repairs will hold it together. What do I think of the 2000? Actually it's a lovely club racer; it's not going to scare anyone with its speed or instability. It is quick once you get it pointing in the right direction ... with some comfort added for good measure, although you do have to work to keep it moving in the light. I had a soft spot for the class at the time when it was relocated from Laser Performance. Perhaps it was the type of sailors that enjoy racing the boat - or perhaps it's the inclusive nature of the boat that enables any of the family to race in safety. RS have certainly been dealt a good card with this boat. I am not envious - perhaps slightly green.

Base Layers - Hot stuff or Polypro, what's the difference? Base Layers - Hot stuff or Polypro, what's the difference?

Base Layers - Hot stuff or Polypro, what's the difference?

What’s the difference? Why are there two types of base layer now? They may look very similar on the rail but they are quite different garments, using different technologies for different user applications. Both available in Mens, Womens and Junior fit, for tops, bottoms, gloves, socks and other accessories. Our universally adored PolyPro is a very warm hydrophobic base layer with a brushed fleece inner surface. It’s super soft and lightweight so can be used for a variety of sports, anytime you need to keep the retain warmth. Skiing, cycling, sailing, surfing and in the gym, this versatile material, seemingly very similar to any thermal but cleverly moisture wicking on the inside and hydrophobic on the outside, due to the natural properties of Polypropylene. Hot Stuff is a very thin neoprene (0.5mm) with a titanium layer bonded on the inside to reflect the heat back in. In our new design tops and bottoms, tested by swimmers, sailors and coastal rowers, we have used PolyPro panelling to give an unlimited stretch for watersports such as rowing and kayaking where mobility is a must. The Hot Stuff range is more suited to the “wetter” watersports, rather than your land sports such as cycling and running as the titanium layer with neoprene can be too good at retaining warmth and end up quite sweaty! Still not sure what to go for? If you’re after a normal base layer to use across different sports, including under wetsuit, go for PolyPro. If you’re after a depths of winter addition to your neoprene, or an alternative to a 2mm neoprene top, without the bulk, the Hot Top is the one to go for.
