Rooster Sailing heads to the 2026 ILCA World Championships

We’re proud to be heading to Dún Laoghaire this August and September as the Official Clothing Sponsor of the 2026 ILCA World Championships.

The championships bring together some of the best ILCA sailors in the world, with the ILCA 7 Men’s World Championship taking place from 23–30 August, followed by the ILCA 6 Women’s World Championship from 5–12 September.

For us, this partnership is about much more than supplying clothing. It’s about being there with the sailors, coaches, volunteers and event teams who make an event like this happen – both on and off the water.

Supporting the ILCA community

As Official Clothing Sponsor, we’ll be providing event and technical clothing, supporting the championship prize programme and running a Rooster shop at the venue throughout the championships.

That means competitors and their support teams will have the chance to get their hands on our technical sailing kit, speak to the team and get advice on the products that work best for them.

We’ll also have our own team on site throughout the championships, supported by our local dealer Viking Marine. Whether you’re looking for a new piece of kit, need some advice or simply want to come and say hello, we’ll be there.

Luke Morrison, Managing Director of Rooster, said:

“The ILCA World Championships represent exactly the kind of sailing that Rooster is proud to be part of. These are sailors operating at the highest level of the sport, where preparation, performance and reliability matter in every detail.

“Rooster has always been closely connected to the sailing community, and being able to support the ILCA class at World Championship level is something we’re genuinely proud of. We’re looking forward to being there throughout the championships and supporting the fleet both on and off the water.”

Built for sailors, tested by sailors

We’ve always believed that the best sailing kit comes from understanding how sailors actually use it.

Our clothing is designed and tested in the environments it’s made for – from long days on the water to the demands of racing at the highest level. That’s why being part of the ILCA Worlds feels like such a natural fit for us.

With sailors travelling to Dún Laoghaire from around the world, including more than 40 nations represented in the ILCA 7 fleet alone, it’s a great opportunity for us to meet the wider ILCA community and put our kit directly into the hands of the people it’s designed for.

And while the focus will, of course, be on the racing, we’re looking forward to everything that happens around it too – catching up with sailors, meeting coaches and families, supporting the event team and being part of the atmosphere that makes a World Championship so special.

Come and see us

Our team will be based at the championship venue throughout both championships, with the Rooster shop open for competitors and visitors.

We’ll have a selection of our technical sailing range available, alongside product support and advice from the team.

So, if you’re heading to Dún Laoghaire for the ILCA Worlds, come and find us and say hello.

We’re looking forward to being there, supporting the fleet and being part of what promises to be a fantastic few weeks of racing.
