This pop rivet is designed for riveting onto carbon products such as a booms or tillers. It is create a different collapse of the rivet material to spread the load better for pop riveting onto carbon products, such as booms etc. When 'pulled up' it will create a ‘flat washer type’ spread of material.

If you use conventional pop rivets to secure onto carbon, this could result in the pop rivet cracking the carbon surface, as the collapse of material is more ‘bulbous' when pulled up on the mandrel with the riveting tool.

This rivet as used on the Rooster Laser/ILCA carbon tiller trap fitting.
