Without going into unnecessary detail as to why, I rest on my (very sensitive) knees quite a lot when sailing. Before I got these knee pads I was only able to do this for long by wearing a long-leg wetsuit with 2 extra layers of 3mm neoprene stuffed inside the legs (total 9mm!). With these knee pads I get no knee pains at all even when wearing shorts. They are flexible enough not to restrict movement. Nearly perfect because in an energetic sailing session they can drop down the leg a little, although not enough to expose my kneecaps. The elastic fixing straps could possibly be a tad less elastic, to keep them in place a bit better, that’s all. But still well worth my 5 stars for comfort and effectiveness. I have not had them long enough to be able to comment on their robustness, but they do appear to be tough, and well put together.

For me they are perfect, these knee pads are the first ones I have used that actually stay put and support as well as protecting the knee.

I did wonder about spending this much on a pair of knee pads but as a disabled dinghy sailor our dinghy is adapted for me to sail kneeling so I am continually moving from hiking to crossing the boat on my knees. These protect my knees and also stay on my knees which previous knee pads do not. They are also comfortable for prolonged kneeling in light winds

They protect your knees and front legs with great efficiency. Tested only in strong wind so far, so excellent results!

If you wear the hiking pads, sometimes they slip down the leg, but they still cover your knees greatly

I've now worn them twice and they are amazing. My poor knees are no longer sore!
